about
I was traumatized by the experience I had with kundalini I sing about in There Was a Light. I Never Feel Alone gets across what it felt like inside for a few years after, struggling with trauma, loneliness, the feeling of getting older, monotony and malaise, reaching out to a friend. Sounds depressing when I put it that way, but it's not meant to be.
lyrics
The terror of our times
Is being lonely.
I never feel alone
For thou art with me.
I love religion,
Though it’s going out of style,
And it’s corrupted by people who are not loving.
I know that there is someone watching
I never feel alone.
And even when you’re gone, God’s with me
When I am on my own.
I am on my own.
Last night I couldn’t sleep.
I went to work, though.
And like the day before,
I went right back home.
I felt uncertain
So I walked a quarter mile.
Although I feel myself aging
I’m keeping healthy.
I know that there is someone watching
I never feel alone.
And even when you’re gone, God’s with me
When I am on my own.
I am on my own.
There’s a night light on my wall
Sending shadows down the hall.
I’m afraid of what I’ve seen.
I’m afraid of what I’ll dream.
Oh, I will text you at 2 a.m.
And you will know I miss you.
Ah, I will text you at 2 a.m.
And you will know I miss you.
And you will know I miss you.

One of my best friends, one spectacular songwriter, one of my favorite albums. It's a joy to have one of my favorite albums also be made by one of my best friends. Stephen Bluhm
Well, I just love when wonderful people I know also happen to make wonderful music I know. I'd love this album anyway, but knowing Trevor personally and that he's a special guy makes it even better. Stephen Bluhm
